In a nutshell: A point-to-point telemedicine system has been designed for use in cardiovascular risk reduction programmes. The model was tested on subjects in a remote mountain village. Non-specialised health professionals were trained to obtain data and conduct basic screening tests. The data was sent over ISDN lines to a clinic for evaluation and feedback to the patient.
