In a nutshell: The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence has produced a Patient Decision Aid (PDA) to be used in conjunction with its guidance on the management of atrial fibrillation. The PDA is designed to help patients weigh up the possible advantages and disadvantages of the different options for treatment, in order to be able to discuss the alternatives with a health professional.
